Brandaid Haiti has begun.

Brandaid-Haiti has started an assessment of the short and long term needs of artisan microenterprises. These include the areas of production, workplaces, tools, materials, market readiness and shipping ability. This is being done through visits to the actual microenterprise locations.

Brandaid-Haiti is consulting with artisan community associations in Haiti as well as national artisan groups that are still functional. CHF, a major development NGO, will be working with the Brandaid Project. UNESCO-Haiti will also take part.

Brandaid-Haiti will purchase artisan products from quake damaged communities as soon as possible, and will also place future orders. This will provide artisans with an immediate injection of cash and a guarantee of orders once up and running. We will also be helping to develop marketing and branding strategies within the sector.

We will also create and curate a post-Earthquake Collection which will become a major travelling exhibition and fund raising event.
